Exeter - FORCE Horse Race Evening

Foot Anstey held an extremely successful charity race in aid of FORCE raising over £5,000. Over 200 people from local businesses at Sandy Park to place bets on televised horse races.

Guests enjoyed a hog roast and buffet followed by screened horse racing, a hugely successful charity auction and raffle. One of the highlights of the auction was a cricket bat signed by the England Cricket team which raised £800!

The evening was in aid of Exeter cancer charity FORCE, a charity financing improvements in patient care through research, the purchase of equipment and support and advice to sufferers and their families.

Foot Anstey’s Antonia Power said: ‘We set ourselves a high goal in terms of the funds we wanted to raise and fun to be had, but the evening far surpassed our expectations owing largely to the massive generosity of the people who attended. The party had a real buzz about it and is a fantastic example of the goodwill the local business community holds for local charity fundraising.’

Meriel Fishwick, Chief Executive of FORCE said “This is a staggering sum and I would like to thank all concerned for their hard work and generosity. The money raised will run FORCE Cancer Support Centre for a week. We see around 250 visitors at the Centre every week now so this donation will make a significant contribution to local people whose lives are affected by cancer.”
