The Careers Academy
We are delighted to announce that Foot anstey is to work with John Kito Community College in Plymouth and offer students attending the College who are studying the UK Career Academy Foundation Programme, mentoring and a six week summer intern placement.
The principle of the Careers Academy is to raise the aspirations of young people aged between 16 -19 through positive work experience. The student will be employed by Foot Anstey for the six week period and will be given a mixture of practical and learning experience within the work place. Having heard reports from students who have taken part in the programme, it is clear that the experience is both daunting and hugely empowering for them. It is the first experience for the student to be involved in full-time work in a professional environment.
One of our student’s tasks will be to keep an on-line diary through this web page. We hope this will prove informative for other students on the course and provide valuable feedback on the experience. The first introductory meeting with our appointed student takes place in Febraury so watch this space…
