When I’m 65: Age Discrimination
Who should attend?
HR professionals at all levels and anyone with involvement in recruiting, managing or supervising staff.
What’s covered?
Age discrimination is the most important piece of discrimination legislation for 30 years and this workshop examines what the legislation means and the pitfalls to avoid.
This course covers:
- who is covered by the legislation
- the consequences of a discrimination claim
- age discrimination in recruiting staff and job adverts
- how to avoid discrimination against existing staff
- what to do about office banter and birthday cards
- dealing with harassment claims
- should long service benefits be changed?
- how to deal with retirement
We use practical examples and case studies to ensure participation by all delegates, improve retention of information and to make the session as informal as possible.
What will delegates achieve?
By the end of the workshop session your delegates will:
- understand the background to age discrimination
- be familiar with the content of the relevant law
- be able to recognise potential problem areas
- know how to manage their staff to minimise the risk of tribunal claims
- be able to pass on sensible and practical guidance to their teams
How long is it and how much?
This workshop session runs for 3 hours and costs of £75 + VAT per delegate.
The workshop is subject to a minimum of 8 delegates per session and a maximum of 15.
