What’s covered?
The Data Protection Act and the Codes of Practice have far-reaching consequences on employment data. It is a subject that many people are aware of, but few know the extent of their legal obligations and responsibilities. We will demystify this complex legal area, giving practical guidance on what you should and should not be doing.
The course covers:
- employer’s duties and the impact of the Code of Practice
- data protection in recruitment and on termination
- data protection during employment – what is and is not covered
- dealing with requests for personal data
We use case studies to ensure delegate participation.

By the end of the workshop session your delegates will:
- understand the main requirements of the DPA and Code of Practice
- be able to develop policies and procedures for dealing with data protection issues
- be in a position to pass on sensible and practical information to their teams on data protection issues
- deal confidently with a data protection request.
How long is it and how much?
This workshop session runs for 3 hours and costs only £75 + VAT per delegate.
The workshop is subject to a minimum of 8 delegates per session and a maximum of 15.
