TUPE Or Not TUPE?
Who should attend?
In house lawyers, HR professionals at all levels and any manager or senior employees involved in the acquisition or disposal of businesses or parts of business, mergers or outsourcing.
What’s covered?
The transfer of undertakings legislation (“TUPE”) is not an easy subject to grasp but some knowledge of its finer workings and recent case law is essential for any evolving business where contracts are won in tender situations, or businesses are bought and sold and where employees are brought on board or transfer to a new employer.
This course covers:
- what is TUPE and where has it come from?
- who is covered by the legislation?
- what does it mean for your business?
- consultation obligations
- effect on employees’ contracts
- what protection might you want in any legal agreement
We use practical examples and case studies to ensure participation by all delegates, improve retention of information and to make the session as informal as possible.
What will delegates achieve?
By the end of the workshop session your delegates will:
- understand the background to TUPE
- be familiar with the content of the relevant law
- be able to recognise situations where TUPE will apply
- know how to manage these situations to minimise the risk of tribunal claims
- be able to deal with incoming and outgoing employees and consultation requirements
How long is it and how much?
This workshop session runs for 3 hours and costs only £75 per delegate.
The workshop is subject to a minimum of 8 delegates per session and a maximum of 15.
