The Hands On Approach: Role Plays and Mock Tribunals
Who should attend?
HR professionals, directors, managers and staff at any level.
What’s covered?
This training gives you the opportunity to practice either appearing as a witness at an Employment Tribunal, or holding difficult meetings with employees in a safe environment.
The role play session or mock Tribunal is based on a realistic scenario, adapted to the work your company does. As the purpose of this training is to be as interactive as possible, we are very flexible about the subject matter, however, the following are examples of role plays and mock tribunal training sessions we have provided for clients in the past:
- sickness absence disciplinary hearing
- dismissing for gross misconduct
- misconduct disciplinary hearing
- dealing with grievances
- dealing with hostile trade union representatives in meetings
- tribunal following misconduct dismissal
- tribunal alleging sex discrimination
- tribunal following sickness dismissal
We provide the delegates with all the background materials in advance of the training and then, after a short introduction, delegates will spend almost all day “in character”. At the end of the session delegates are given feedback and tips on their performance.
How long is it and how much?
A role play session lasts for 8 hours (with an hour for lunch and short breaks in the morning and afternoon) and costs £250 + VAT per delegate.
The role play session is subject to a minimum of 4 delegates per session and a maximum of 12.
A mock tribunal lasts for 8 hours (with an hour for lunch and short breaks in the morning and afternoon) and costs £350 + VAT per delegate.
A mock tribunal is subject to a minimum of 4 delegates per session and a maximum of 8.
