Don’t Worry Be Happy: Managing Workplace Stress

HR professionals at all levels and any manager or senior employee with team leader responsibility.

What’s covered?

Stress is the bad back of the 21st Century. With one in five workers suffering from stress, it can be ignored at your peril. It is one of the most commonly discussed questions with lawyers and yet little is done to address the issue in the workplace. The course helps you understand your obligations and how to manage an employee with stress. This course covers:

  • what is stress?
  • minimising stress in the workplace
  • HSE standards and your obligations
  • management of an employee absent with stress
  • the impact of stress on disciplinary and grievance procedures
  • Stress and the Disability Discrimination Act

We use practical examples and case studies to ensure participation by all delegates, improve retention of information and to make the session as informal as possible.

What will delegates achieve?

By the end of the workshop session your delegates will:

  • understand the most common causes of stress and the obligations on the business for dealing with these
  • know how to deal practically with employees absent with stress including capability dismissals
  • understand the legal implications of stress

How long is it and how much?

This workshop session runs for 3 hours and cost only £75 + VAT per delegate.
The workshop is subject to a minimum of 8 delegates per session and a maximum of 15.
