What’s covered?

This is a one day course that combines our two courses on disciplinary and grievance procedures. This course covers:

  • the impact of the statutory procedures on dismissals

  • step by step guide to conducting a grievance hearing
  • the cost of getting it wrong

We use case studies and practical examples to ensure that all delegates understand how to investigate and conduct disciplinary and grievance hearings from start to finish.

What will delegates achieve?

By the end of the workshop session your delegates will:

  • know the legal requirements in conducting a disciplinary hearing
  • recognise the importance of the statutory procedures
  • understand the principles of fairness and tribunal expectations
  • be confident in dealing with the practicalities of conducting a process from investigation to appeal
  • know how to manage disciplinary situations to minimise the risk of tribunal claims
  • understand the cost of getting it wrong
  • be able to identify what is and isn’t a grievance
  • understand the grievance process from start to finish
  • minimise the risk of getting it wrong

We also provide a specimen letters for delegates to take away with them and use in the future.

How long is it and how much?

This workshop session runs for 6 hours (with short breaks) and costs only £125 + VAT per delegate, saving you £25 per delegate if you were to book the two courses separately.
The workshop is subject to a minimum of 8 delegates per session and a maximum of 15.
