Flexible And Family Friendly Working: What Does It Mean For You?
Who should attend?
HR professionals at all levels and any manager or senior employees with team leader responsibility.
What’s covered?
Like or loathe it, family friendly legislation is here to stay. Those that embrace it say it attracts a market of employees who were previously untapped. Research demonstrates that it assists in the retention of an existing valued workforce. No matter what your personal feelings, you still need to know your obligations. This course covers:
- how far does flexible working extend?
- what should your flexible working policy say?
- how to manage a flexible working request
- Part time worker regulations
- time off for dependants
- parental leave
- the interplay with sex discrimination
We use case studies to ensure that all delegates have a working knowledge of family friendly legislation.
What will delegates achieve?
By the end of the workshop session your delegates will:
- understand how to deal with requests appropriately
- be able to manage a flexible working request
- know how to assess when it is ok to say “no”
- confidently address requests for time off for family reasons
- be sure to minimise the risk of an indirect sex discrimination claim.
How long is it and how much?
This workshop session runs for 3 hours and costs only £75 + VAT per delegate.
The workshop is subject to a minimum of 8 delegates per session and a maximum of 15.
