Pregnancy And Maternity Leave Explained
Who should attend?
HR professionals at all levels, payroll staff, managers and anyone with responsibility for recruitment, managing or supervising staff.
What’s covered?
Maternity legislation is complicated and changes regularly. The times when most things can go wrong are during maternity leave and when a woman returns to work. We guide delegates through the law and take a practical look at problem areas. This course covers:
- rights for pregnant workers
- how and when to conduct a pregnant worker’s risk assessment
- maternity leave and keeping in touch days
- maternity pay and benefits
- mothers returning to work
- part time or flexible working requests
- paternity and adoption rights
- are your policies up to date and how to update them
- potential for sex discrimination claims
We use practical examples and case studies to ensure participation by all delegates, improve retention of information and to make the session as informal as possible.
What will delegates achieve?
By the end of the workshop session your delegates will:
- be familiar with the content of the relevant law
- understand the significant issues for pregnant workers and those on maternity leave
- be able to recognise potential problem areas and minimise the risk of claims
- know how to deal successfully with requests for part time or flexible working
How long is it and how much?
This workshop session runs for 3 hours and costs only £75 + VAT per delegate.
The workshop is subject to a minimum of 8 delegates per session and a maximum of 15.
