Just Say No: Tackling Harassment And Bullying

Who should attend?

HR professionals at all levels and anyone with management responsibility

What’s covered?

We all have our ideas of what amounts to bullying and harassment, but what are the legal parameters? When does a robust manager become a bully? When does seemingly harmless banter become harassment? What can and should you do about allegations? We look at not only how to deal with allegations of harassment or bullying, but also what can you do to prevent it in the first place.

This course covers:

  • what are harassment and bullying?
  • liability for employees’ actions
  • investigating allegations
  • disciplining the bully/harasser
  • the statutory defence – what can you do to protect the business
  • what to do when dismissing the perpetrator isn’t an option

We use case studies to ensure that all delegates have a working knowledge of how to identify, investigate and manage a disciplinary involving bullying/harassment allegations.

What will delegates achieve?

By the end of the workshop session your delegates will:

  • be confident in identifying what is (and isn’t) bullying and harassment
  • know how to investigate allegations effectively
  • be able to conduct disciplinary and grievance hearings
  • understand the issues of confidentiality
  • know how to manage situations to minimise the risk of tribunal claims

How long is it and how much?

This workshop session runs for 3 hours and costs only £75 + VAT per delegate.
The workshop is subject to a minimum of 8 delegates per session and a maximum of 15.
