Coping with Groping: How to Handle Harassment
Who should attend?
HR professionals at all levels and employees with responsibility for managing or supervising staff.
What’s covered?
It’s a situation most managers dread. An allegation of sexual harassment has been made and you are the person responsible for dealing with it. What are your obligations? What if the allegation is against your Managing Director? How much should you keep confidential? We provide practical advice to guide you and your managers through this thorny issue.
This course covers:
- when does “harmless flirtation” become harassment?
- investigating the complaint
- dealing with the harasser
- harassment and confidentiality
- what can you do to prevent harassment?
- legal liability for harassment
- the statutory defence – what can you do to protect the business?
We use a range of interactive techniques and deliver practical tips to ensure participation by all and to ensure that all delegates leave feeling confident of what to do next.
What will delegates achieve?
By the end of the session delegates will:
- recognise when a complaint is made
- know how to investigate and deal with a complaint of harassment
- be able to improve awareness of harassment issues in the workplace

- know how to develop policies and procedures to protect the business
