Jonathan is a member of Foot Anstey’s financial and commercial disputes team. He joined Foot Anstey in 2007 having trained at Burges Salmon in Bristol, where he qualified in 2005.
Jonathan typically advises on breach of contract, professional negligence and partnership disputes. Recent examples of work include:
- Settling a Devon based start up company’s high value dispute with a financial institution at mediation.
- Ongoing advice to a national finance house in relation to disputes arising out of asset finance agreements.
- Taking a dispute between competitors in the ferry industry to arbitration.
- Advising a participating employer in a final salary pension scheme on its funding risks and options.
- Resolving partnership disputes in the care home and financial services sectors.
- Advising FSA regulated firms and individuals on commission clawbacks, restrictive covenants and complaints.
Jonathan is a member of Financial Services Lawyers Association and an associate member of the Association of Pensions Lawyers. He is familiar with a variety of dispute resolution processes including the Pensions and Financial Ombudsman services, mediation, arbitration and trial.
Jonathan’s hobbies include playing rugby, golf and surfing.
