Ruth trained and qualified into employment law in 2001 with City law firm Stephenson Harwood in London and Singapore before joining Pinsent Masons in 2004 and Foot Anstey in 2007. Whilst on a 6-month in-house secondment from Stephenson Harwood to HSBC Bank plc, she also gained invaluable insight into the practical side of employee relations.
Ruth has extensive experience advising a broad range of employers (from large financial institutions to construction firms) and employees on all aspects of both contentious and non-contentious employment law. Throughout her career, she has regularly advised on issues such as collective and individual redundancies, dismissals, discrimination and maternity rights, general HR advice dealing with all aspects of disciplinary, performance and sickness issues, has acted for both employers and employees in Employment Tribunal litigation and drafted the full spectrum of employment documentation.
Ruth is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association and regularly writes articles and delivers seminars on all aspects of Employment Law.
