William specialises in charity law and has been a trustee of a national disability charity for a number of years. He is also director and company secretary of a social enterprise promoting development in Ethiopia. On a non-executive level, he is also in a long-term advocacy partnership with a man with learning disability.
Prior to joining Foot Anstey, William practised as a barrister at 1 Gray’s Inn Square in London. Having been called to the Bar in 2000, his principal areas of practice were regulatory work, money laundering and fraud. Other interesting work included the Rwanda and Iraq war crimes tribunals.
Whilst in practice at the Bar, William also held a lecturing post at the College of Law of England and Wales.
