Peter is a solicitor working in the Commercial and Financial Disputes team based in Exeter.
Peter studied law at St John’s College, Oxford before attending the Oxford Institute of Legal Practice. He completed his training contract with Lovells in the City of London in February 2006 and qualified into Lovells’ International Arbitration, Retail and Commercial Banking and Professional Dispute Resolution team.
In addition to general commercial disputes, Peter has experience in litigation in the financial sector, most notably advising large retail, commercial and investment banks in bringing and defending court proceedings relating to their operations, prosecuting financial crime on the part of customers or staff and co-operating with large regulatory investigations, both domestic and international. He also completed a secondment to a large international bank during 2007, where he advised on all aspects of the International Markets and Corporate/Investment Banking business.
Peter is familiar with a range of dispute resolution processes including arbitration, mediation, proceedings before the Financial Ombudsman, investigations by the Financial Services Authority, the Serious Fraud Office and European and US regulators as well as High Court litigation.
Peter enjoys playing rugby and golf and reading in his spare time.
