Julian is an associate in the financial & commercial disputes team. Julian qualified as a solicitor in 1998, having started his career with British Aerospace as an engineer. He previously worked as an associate for Bond Pearce heading up its Plymouth commercial litigation division.
Julian’s experience covers a broad mix of commercial and private client disputes including:
- Breach of contract claims including, most recently, the settlement of a £6M claim against a major meat wholesaler arising from the supply of temporary workers;
- Shareholder disputes acting for both minor shareholders and companies including unfair prejudice and derivative claims;
- Sale of Goods and consumer related disputes connected with the Consumer Credit Act; Julian previously acted for a major DIY retailer in relation to all of their Smalls Claims and Fast Track cases;
- All areas of Chancery work, with an emphasis on trusts, probate, inheritance and family provision, real property and related professional negligence;
- Partnership disputes whether related to the Partnership Act 1890 or LLPs;
- Fraud and recoveries.
Julian also has experience of claims involving trespass, rights of way, nuisance, noise, partition and order for sale order and Party Wall etc matters.
Julian is a member of ACTAPS (Association of Contentious Trust and Probate Specialists), APP (Association of Partnership Practitioners) and Property Litigation Association (PLA). He is also a trained ADR mediator.
Julian has also developed a sports law practice. He regularly writes for Worlds Sport Law Report and also lectures in law and sports law at a local University.
