Advice And Information Day - Help To Pursue Medical Claims

Disabled adults, parents of disabled children and professionals working with them can receive free advice regarding possible claims arising out of medical treatment received on Saturday 9 December at Plymouth law firm Foot Anstey office in Derry’s Cross.

Foot Anstey, in association with the Scope Inclusion Team, are holding an advice and information day with an emphasis on birth injuries claims, ‘best interest’ issues and the role of the Court of Protection.

Robert Antrobus of Foot Anstey says ‘This information day gives general information on pursuing claims as well as free private discussions with individuals. We are offering crèche facilities as well parking outside the building.”


Denzil Lush, Master of the Court of Protection, will discuss the role of the Court of Protection and the Public Guardianship Office, who are responsible for providing services to promote the financial and social well being of people with mental incapacity.

A panel discussion with Dr Michael Powers QC, a specialist clinical negligence barrister who also trained as a doctor, Andrew Hannam and Robert Antrobus, both clinical negligence specialists at Foot Anstey will look at all aspects of pursuing a clinical negligence claim from funding, through to proving a case and how a claim is formulated.

Scope’s Inclusion Team provides specialised outreach support services to children and young people with profound and multiple learning disabilities, physical difficulties and health needs. The local team is based in Saltash.
