Exeter CAB Helps Over 8000 People In A Year
Exeter Citizens Advice Bureau, in partnership with Foot Anstey, is today publishing their annual report for 2006/2007.
Steve Barriball, Bureau Director, said, “This year, we have produced the report in poster format, with the message “Advice Changes Lives”. We hope using a poster format should mean more people read about our achievements in 2006/2007”.
“Last year the Exeter Citizens Advice Bureau helped 8790 people, with 23984 problems. 46% of client problems related to debt, 27% related to welfare benefits, and 7% related to housing problems. As well as helping people resolve their problems, we also know that our advice has other positive benefits including people feeling less anxious or stressed, having fewer health problems and feeling more confident. Advice really does Change Lives”.
“I would also like to record my thanks to Foot Anstey for sponsoring the printing costs of the poster, and for hosting our Annual General Meeting last month”.
Vanessa Priddis Partner at Exeter law firm Foot Anstey said “We are delighted to support the CAB in publicising its services. As a law firm committed to providing legal advice to individuals, we recognise their positive role in our local community.”
Steve Barriball added, “The Bureau will shortly be launching a new Friends of Exeter CAB Group. This will give individuals, voluntary sector organisations and business an opportunity to support us financially, or by donating use of premises or other support. This is an exciting time for the Bureau because we aim to move to a position where we become less reliant on grant income and raise more funds ourselves”.
