New Lasting Power of Attorney Service
Sue Savill, who joined Taunton law firm Foot Anstey last year, is spearheading an initiative to help local individuals and business people understand the benefits of the new Lasting Power of Attorneys (LPAs).
Last year LPAs replaced the EPA (Enduring Power of Attorney) for people wanting to make arrangements for their personal affairs to be managed by someone else chosen by them if they were to lose their mental capacity.
Sue Savill, with a wealth of experience in wills, estate planning and inheritance tax, said “LPAs provide enhanced safeguards against financial abuse as well as allowing someone to take decisions about the care, welfare and even medical treatment, of an incapacitated person.
Putting an LPA in place whilst you are fit and able makes sense. It will ensure your wishes are followed if you are mentally incapacitated and save your family considerable heartache in the future. "
Foot Anstey are offering Property and Affairs LPAs for a fixed fee of £550 plus VAT per person. If registration with the court is then required we can arrange this for an additional fixed fee of £300 plus vat. If you would like more information about LPAs or would like to put one in place, please call 01823 337 151.
