New Approach At Law Firm
Expanding south west law firm Foot Anstey is promoting four of its brightest legal and management talent in a new delivery structure that increases the business services clients can access from its four offices.
The changes are part of the firm’s continued drive to expand throughout the south west and to ensure that growth is harnessed to strengthen its services to business.
The new teams covering company/commercial, property, litigation and employment will be led respectively by partners Duncan Sykes, Richard Sutton, David Turner and Patrick Howarth.
Both Duncan and David joined Foot Anstey in 2007 to fulfil these crucial development roles while Richard and Patrick have a strong management track record of delivery from within the firm.
Business and Public Sector Group Head John Westwell said: “The firm’s rapid growth in Devon, Cornwall and Somerset demands a streamlined management structure to provide our legal teams with the dynamic leadership, support and back-up required to provide cost effective services.
“I am excited and fortunate to be able to promote such talented lawyers as heads of these new teams. Duncan, Richard, David and Patrick are outstanding, decisive lawyers with substantial commercial expertise and experience in modern management and people skills. Its vital to bring fresh talent into the business and give capable lawyers an opportunity to move forward.
“We will, together, continue the expansion of the services we offer business and the public sector. We want clients, irrespective of their location in the south west, to be able to access swiftly all the specialist services they need.”
The introduction of the new management structure follows a period of intense expansion, including mergers in Plymouth and Truro, significant recruitment and the building of a new office in Plymouth for occupation next year.
Mr Westwell added: “Next month sees the arrival at Foot Anstey of Gareth Pinwell, Restormel Borough Council’s Chief Executive to head up the firm’s planning and public sector service and by May the Business group will be strengthened further by the arrival of 10 new lawyers.
In addition to the firm’s growing business and public sector group, Foot Anstey remains committed to providing its full range of services to individuals.
The 40 strong partner firm with 400 staff operates across the south west from offices in Exeter, Plymouth, Taunton and Truro.
