Lawyers Turn To Soap
Judge Jeremy Griggs, the Civil Judge for Devon and Cornwall was guest of honour at the Cornwall’s Law Society’s Annual dinner in Newquay.
Mark Chanter, President of Cornwall’s Law Society and partner at Foot Anstey Hancock Caffin said “We were delighted to welcome Judge Griggs who returned the compliment by wearing his national costume to celebrate his Celtic roots!
“It was a great night raising over £1,000 for the Cornwall Community Fund, a charity that makes a real difference to quality of life for people in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
“Everyone seemed to enjoy the task I set them of writing a new soap to challenge Echo Beach. The choice of titles was Habeas Corpses or Legal Loop Holes!”
Cornwall’s Law Society has over 150 members and numbers are rising as increasingly the quality and quantity of legal work is staying in the county and not going to Bristol or London.
