Help For Companies Facing Debt
South West law firm Foot Anstey are responding to the current tightening of credit by extending Fastdebt, their debt recovery service through all their offices in Exeter, Plymouth, Taunton and Truro.
Claire White, who joined Foot Anstey to head up the expanded team said “Many SME businesses in the South West face insolvency if their unpaid debts reach £20,000 according to recent research. With a business owed on average £26,000 coupled with the current credit crunch the number of companies going to the wall could increase dramatically.
“The research carried out by BACS, the body behind the automated banking payment scheme suggests the single biggest cause of business failure is poor cash flow resulting from poor credit control.
“Given this information, the fact that only 18 per cent of businesses employ someone specifically to deal with credit control is seriously worrying.
“Many small, medium and large business use Fastdebt as an extension of their own credit control department and involving the Foot Anstey team as soon as the debt is overdue.”
