Foot Anstey's New Legal Trainees

Four legal trainees have transferred their training contracts to South West law firm Foot Anstey before they qualify - such is the reputation of this fast expanding law firm.

Trainees normally stay at one firm to complete their training contract but they all wanted to move to Foot Anstey as the firm offered them experience in expanding practice areas and tailor made training. The firm is praised by national legal guides.

Foot Anstey is committed to the development of trainees and junior lawyers. Retaining highly motivated and well qualified staff is seen as pivotal in their goal of becoming the premier firm of the South West.

The four trainees will all qualify this year with the exception of Charlotte Brannigan who joined the five specialist private client lawyers in the Truro office offering legal advice to individuals. She qualifies in April 2010.

Philip Brown started his training with a local authority and specialises in public sector work.

Kerry Morgan joined the fast growing litigation team in Exeter. Headed up by David Turner, Kerry joins a team of nine specialist litigators.

Natalie Todd joined the commercial transactions team in Taunton and works alongside Michael Gay.

Trainee Partner Louise Widley, commented: "I am delighted to welcome our new trainees who all see opportunities with Foot Anstey. We know we can give them a first class training enabling them to specialise in the areas of their choice.

"We have developed a nationally accredited trainee programme that ensures a thorough and rounded training experience. Virtually all our trainees stay on when they qualify as solicitors - it’s a two way investment. Currently 47 of our solicitors trained with the firm and that includes eight partners and two associates."

Foot Anstey has won praise from national training guides such as The Chambers Student Guide 2008 who said "With a five year expansion plan and a buzzing, stimulating environment, Foot Anstey is a firm with plenty to offer a new recruit ... this could be your ticket to a prosperous career in one of the most beautiful areas of Britain"

In Chambers Student Guide 2007 one of Foot Anstey’s trainees said "We’re really included in everything the firm is doing; it’s an exciting time and that’s why I’d recommend it to anyone.”

The firm currently has 17 trainees, 10 more will join in September.
