Another Successful Year For Foot Anstey
South West law firm Foot Anstey is celebrating another strong financial performance with turnover increasing by 21% to £19m in 2007/08.
The firm’s two successful mergers, Serpell Eaton in Plymouth and the Cornish firm of Hancock Caffin, during the past year contributed 10% to this growth. The other 11% was from expansion of existing services to clients in the region and nationally.
Foot Anstey employees have risen to over 400.
The financial performance reflects a strong business performance across the full service law firm, with growth in services to companies, organisations, charities and individuals. With the merger of Hancock Caffin, Foot Anstey now has a Cornish office in Truro to add to its other three locations of Exeter, Plymouth and Taunton.
Managing partner Jane Lister said: “These excellent figures are a tribute to the quality of our staff and the effective services they deliver.
“In the past year over 25 solicitors, including partners and associates, joined Foot Anstey to strengthen key areas and add new skills to the practice. New recruits, such as David Turner in litigation, Duncan Sykes in corporate, Gareth Pinwell in public sector, John Pindard in tax and Sue Savill in private client ensure we constantly meet the needs of the market place.
“Foot Anstey’s decade of constant growth reflects the clear focus of the partnership and the strength of our continual investment in people, client services, premises and technology. We are now twelve months ahead of our business plan.
“Our commitment to become the premier firm in the south west outside Bristol and the dynamism of our team will continue when John Westwell succeeds me as managing partner in the autumn.”
The firm’s planned expansion is on course with their new Plymouth office currently under construction at Sutton Harbour’s Salt Quay House and the announcement of new premises in Truro later in the year.
