Taunton Company Continues Expansion
Taunton based G & L Consultancy, a leading asbestos consultancy, is opening a new office in Devon following its corporate restructuring.
With 50 staff, 4 offices and a laboratory in the UK, the owner Julie Lewis bought out the company’s other 50% shareholder with the advice of Peter Bowler, a business lawyer at Foot Anstey.
Bowler said “We often advise highly successful businesses as they expand. G & L are just such an example”.
G & L provide a complete service in dealing with asbestos, the potentially dangerous material used in old buildings.
Julie Lewis said “G & L have grown tremendously since 1998. We believe that quality and health and safety go hand in hand. Asbestos is only dangerous when it is not treated properly. Our surveying, monitoring, remediation, training and advice on asbestos issues have to be of the highest quality”.
“We handle everything from the survey and subsequent asbestos management of an entire dockyard to a single air sample in someone’s house and also offer free advice and a 24 hour call out service”.
Breathing asbestos fibres is well known to be highly toxic. Following the 2002 Control of Asbestos at Work Regulations all non-domestic buildings had to be surveyed for asbestos. G & L advise the owners, managers or duty holders of buildings with asbestos on how to manage it by either removing it or keeping it under regular surveillance and putting it on the official register.
