Recognition for Exeter Medical Lawyers

Foot Anstey’s work in clinical negligence has received national recognition recently.

Chris Thorne, a partner in clinical negligence team, was given the accolade of "Lawyer of the Week" in The Times newspaper.  This was in recognition, at a national level, of winning a ground breaking Court of Appeal claim that decided the loss of frozen sperm samples by a health trust gives those men who lost the ability to father children a right to claim in compensation.

In the same week Foot Anstey, solicitor Michelle Biddulph was appointed to the Solicitor’s Regulation Authority Clinical Negligence Panel. The panel is an accreditation scheme, formerly run by the Law Society, which recognises particular skill and expertise in the specialist practice area of clinical negligence claims. The appointment acknowledges Michelle’s experience in dealing with claims for compensation arising out of negligent treatment provided by hospitals, doctors or other healthcare professionals.

Chris Thorne commented "This recognition is not just important for Foot Anstey and our clients but shows a West Country based businesses making an impact at national level.  This in turn both attracts and retains specialists who can offer the best advice."
