Local Magazine Sold

One of the country’s leading surfing magazines, Wavelength, based in Truro, was sold by Cornwall and Devon Media, who are part of Northcliffe Media and DMGT, to local firm Endless Summer Media.

All staff will be retained to continue publishing the magazine that has covered all aspects of the British and international surf scene since 1981.

Chris Worrell, Foot Anstey’s recently joined corporate partner acted for Cornwall and Devon Media and Katie Ashworth of Murrell Ashworth LLP for the purchasers.

Trevor Lee, Managing Director of Cornwall and Devon Media, said “We are delighted that Wavelength will stay in local ownership under the magazine expertise of Endless Summer and the fact that the new owners have retained all the Wavelength staff. It was great to be able to draw upon Chris’ publishing experience when structuring and negotiating the deal and Foot Anstey’s efforts meant we completed in the timescale both parties needed."

Chris Worrell, partner at Foot Anstey said “I was delighted to act for Cornwall and Devon Media who are long standing clients of Foot Anstey. The deal was completed in a short timescale in order to meet the needs of both parties and we are pleased to have played our part in helping push the deal through.”
