New Lawyer Joins Collaborative Law Group
The Cornwall Group of Collaborative Lawyers has taken on a new member from South West law firm Foot Anstey.
Mark Chanter, a Partner at the firm, has long believed that collaborative law is by far the best option for couples in dispute – if it is achievable.
Mark said; “I am a mediator but this new form of Collaborative Law is a way of getting to the heart of the problem quickly. It really helps to focus on what the clients want and what is important to them, rather than putting each other – and their friends and family through the long and lengthy legal process. I have always believed that a practical, progressive approach is required to deal with the multitude of legal and non-legal issues that arise.”
The Cornwall Group of Collaborative Lawyers takes a fresh approach to sorting out the issues couples have on the breakdown of their relationship. Round table meetings are held, avoiding lengthy correspondence and court proceedings, to identify the priorities, goals, needs and interests of the couple. When everything is resolved, court is only needed to formalise the position - a quicker and cheaper method of sorting out such disputes.
