Law Firm Helps Young Explorers To Follow In The Footsteps Of Giants At Royal Cornwall Museum
Foot Anstey has helped to provide the Royal Cornwall Museum in Truro with a newly re-furbished Cornish Gallery and foyer. Their support follows a year of commitment to the Museum which provides the region with free access to trace Cornwall’s cultural and artistic development from prehistoric day’s right up to modern times.
When a decision was made to keep refurbishment costs at a minimum, museum staff stepped up to carry out the work supported by local contractors, but funding from Foot Anstey and other sponsors helped to refresh interactive elements, labels and displays, and install new lighting in the cases and the gallery itself to help show off the many wonderful objects on display to very best effect.
Foot Anstey became the Royal Cornwall Museum’s business partner in 2009 and have been personally involved with many of the major exhibitions and developments.
Truro based partner Mark Chanter will be guest of honour at the official launch of the Cornish Gallery on Tuesday 16 February. He said; "Foot Anstey is committed to supporting local communities and I strongly believe that a partnership with the arts can further the cultural outlook of people and develop their passion for learning. These particular improvements will be fundamental to the enjoyment of visitors; we are therefore delighted to continue assisting The Royal Cornwall Museum.”
The launch event will include a programme of family events focusing on using the new explorer back packs and the Cornish Gallery’s most popular exhibit the portrait of the Cornish Giant. Visitors will be able to follow the Explorer Big and Small Booklet Trail, make a puppet of the giant, a helmet and ruff and in the learning rooms, making a giant picture.
