Law Firm Steps It Up A Gear For Charity

Staff at leading law firm Foot Anstey have put in a gruelling day’s work for charity by teaming up to cycle 479.34 km in Plymouth’s Drake Circus shopping centre.

The latest event is part of a series of activities organised by Foot Anstey who, along with other south west businesses, have committed to raising £1.6m for the NSPCC’s ‘Child’s Voice Appeal’.

The event was helped by kind donations from Plymouth YMCA who provided the static cycles and Drake Circus who made a high profile space available for the event.

The Foot Anstey team ended up smashing their target of 440 km, which in theory would take the team from their Taunton to Truro offices and back, visiting their offices in Exeter and Plymouth along the way.

The money raised will help to make sure children who need assistance and advice from ChildLine will get it. Any child calling from the southwest peninsula is looked after by a call handling centre in Exeter; at present, one in three calls from the region’s children is being unanswered, dictated by their limited resources.

John Westwell, Managing Partner at Foot Anstey said; “We are extremely grateful to everyone who has participated in this worthwhile cause. Foot Anstey is committed to helping children and young people in our community and we are delighted to have played a role in supporting the Child’s Voice Appeal.”

Donations from Drake Circus shoppers of £231.81 on the day have been added to donations from Foot Anstey staff and clients. This takes their total to nearly £750. To donate please visit www.justgiving.com/foot-anstey-cycle
