Law Firm Supports Local Charity

Staff, clients and contacts of Plymouth law firm Foot Anstey have raised £4,761.62 for local charity Jeremiah’s Journey by hosting a special St Patrick’s Day themed quiz night.

150 people from all areas of the local business community attended the event held at the Novotel in Plymouth. Teams enjoyed a pint of Guinness and Irish themed food followed by a fierce battle of wits for the Foot Anstey trophy, as well as a hugely successful raffle and charity auction run by local auctioneer Anthony Eldred.

Guests generously bid against each other for cookery lessons at Rick Stein’s, golfing weekends, spa breaks and sports memorabilia.

Antonia Power, corporate lawyer at Foot Anstey said: “Foot Anstey is committed to helping children and young people in our community so we are delighted to have supported Jeremiah’s Journey in this way. Our aim was to raise a substantial sum for the Charity, but the evening far surpassed our expectations thanks to the generosity of our guests.

“The night had a real buzz about it and is a fantastic example of the goodwill the local business community has for local charity fundraising.”

With the evening benefiting Plymouth charity Jeremiah’s Journey, trustee Helen Taylor explained to the audience how they support children and their families who have suffered a bereavement.

Helen said “This is a staggering sum and I would like to thank all concerned for their hard work and generosity. We rely entirely on donations and grants and this donation will make a significant contribution to local people whose lives are affected by bereavement.”
