Event Organisers Give A Tri For Help
Organisers of an annual sporting event in Somerset have offered hundreds of pounds of charitable donations to charities who can provide volunteers to marshal it.
The Taunton Deane Foot Anstey Triathlon is sponsored by Taunton solicitors Foot Anstey and organised by Tone Leisure and Somerset RC Tri. The event will be held at Wellington Sports Centre on Sunday 16 May. Up to 400 men and women are expected to compete in the event, seen to be one of the highlights of the south west’s sporting calendar.
Due to the huge popularity of the event it requires a considerable number of marshals in order to stage it, and this year charitable and ‘not-for-profit’ organisations are being given the opportunity to provide 10 to 20 volunteers (18 years or over) for a donation of between £200 and £400.
Andrew Hannam of law firm Foot Anstey said; “This is such a great event for athletes and a real fun day out for the family with plenty of side attractions to keep them busy. We do need to make sure that it runs as smoothly as possible and the marshals are crucial for this. We hope that offering these charitable donations will help us to recruit some extra manpower this year.”
