Big Changes On The Way For Planning Regulations
Roads with no markings or signage will soon appear in the South West. It may sound chaotic but South West lawyers Foot Anstey will explain at their breakfast briefing “Planning – a new era” on 22nd May in Exeter and 24th May in Taunton how the latest Government initiative aims to slow traffic.
Don Alder Town Planner at Foot Anstey explains “Road designers believe drivers are unsure what to do when they use unmarked roads. Their caution means they drive slowly and therefore more carefully.”
The Foot Anstey briefing will also help developers, agents and business gear up for the big changes likely to become law this year following the Government’s Planning White Paper. It proposes to replace Local Planning Authorities with a new national Planning Commission that will handle the bigger developments. Local authorities will only handle applications of local significance and extensions to houses, garages and other small buildings will no long need planning permission at all.
In addition, the briefing will explain the relevance of recent significant changes in planning policy and law such as the Regional Spatial Strategy, Climate Change Supplement to PPS1 and case law.
