Best Foot Forward For The Great South West Walk
Jon Loney, partner at South West law firm Foot Anstey, is well known for his employment advice, but Wednesday 1 August will see him leave the "day job" behind and join about 20 Foot Anstey staff and other walkers in taking to the coastal footpath in support of the Western Morning News’ Great South West Walk. Foot Anstey is sponsoring the first day of this fund raising charity walk which follows the coastal path of Devon, Cornwall and Dorset over the course of August and will raise money for three charities: RNLI, Wooden Spoon and MacMillan Cancer Support.
Day one of the walk will see participants walking from Plymouth to Wembury in the morning and, if feeling fit enough, from Wembury to Bigbury-on-Sea in the afternoon.
Jon, a keen walker, will wear a pedometer on the first leg from Plymouth to Wembury section and Foot Anstey staff will be raising money by guessing how many steps Jon will take to complete the 14.8 miles!
Jon said “As a firm of solicitors rooted in the south west which advises businesses and individuals throughout the peninsular, Foot Anstey is delighted to be involved, supporting the vibrant community in which we live and work and also supporting, through sponsorship and other fund raising activity, three very deserving causes. It’s a great concept which I am sure will engage the people of the south west and I am sure everyone taking part over the 31 days of August will find it a memorable experience.
"The idea of a coastal walk is a fantastic way to celebrate the region and will no doubt attract support from people across the South West. I am confident it will prove to be an enjoyable and successful event.”
If anyone wants to join the walk, details can be found on the Western Morning News website: http://www.greatsouthwestwalk.co.uk
