Maynard School Chooses Foot Anstey As Their New Lawyers
The Maynard School in Exeter has chosen South West law firm Foot Anstey to advise them on all their legal requirements.
The appointment follows a review by the School of its legal needs, in line with Charity Commission best practice, and a competitive pitch designed to select the right legal advisers to supporting Maynard’s continued success and commitment to excellence in girls’ education.
Bursar and Secretary to the Governors, Tom Hughes-Parry said “We wanted to appoint advisors who understand the growing importance of charity law in the work of the school as well as advising us on the increasing general legal issues that face businesses.
“The Foot Anstey team ticked all our requirements and we look forward to benefiting from a dynamic and positive relationship”.
The successful Foot Anstey team was led by charities specialist and Exeter based partner James Evans who said “As a firm committed to the South West, we are thrilled to be appointed by one of the country’s leading independent girls’ day schools.
“It is a real compliment to be recognised for the quality of our specialist charities team knowledge and our commitment to delivering the best service.”
The Maynard School is recognised as one of the top performing schools in the UK and was placed 55 in the top 100 schools by The Sunday Times in 2006, much higher than any other local school.
It is the third oldest girls’ school in the UK, founded in 1658 by Sir John Maynard and is planning a series of special events in 2008 to mark the school’s 350th anniversary.
