Foot Anstey Strikes The Right Balance For Trainees

In the latest national Lex 100 student guide to the UK’s premier law firms, Foot Anstey gained recognition in two key categories. Trainees said that Foot Anstey offered them the ‘best work/life balance’ and they felt ‘most confident to be kept on’ with Foot Anstey after qualifying.

The Lex 100 is based on an annual survey of legal trainees. Trainees were questioned on all areas from job satisfaction and quality of work to stress levels and social life. The Lex 100 guide is used as a key resource for law students when considering where to train.

The reasons why trainees chose Foot Anstey over other law firms included “one of the leading firms in the South West” and “the wide range of practise areas, including niche areas” offered by the firm. Trainees highlighted many other positive areas such as “everyone at the firm has made an effort to get to know me personally – I am not just another ‘trainee’”, “the firm is a leader in the region and as a result gets a broad range of clients and types of work”.

“Part of Foot Anstey’s success comes from recruiting high calibre trainees who we hope will become the partners of our future” said Louise Widley, Partner and Training Principal. “We are proud of our trainees and devote ourselves to ensuring they have a rewarding and stimulating training contract. We place great importance in their training and development and we are delighted to be recognised in this guide. This year, all our trainees were offered a position with Foot Anstey at the end of their training contract. We see this as a sign our training works! Our trainees have become excellent lawyers and we see them as a valuable part of our business and our future.”
