Cornish Expansion For Leading Law Firm
South West law firm Foot Anstey aims to double its turnover and staff in the next three years in its Truro office following its merger with Hancock Caffin on 1st December 2007.
The growth will come organically through the appointment of new lawyers to add and strengthen the teams in Truro particularly in those advising business teams.
The merger comes hard on the heels of Foot Anstey acting for Sutton Harbour Group in their property deal with the South West of England Regional Development Agency (RDA) to transform part of Osprey Quay at Portland into an exciting £30 million year-round tourism and leisure destination. It also comes just two months after Foot Anstey merged with Serpell Eaton in Plymouth and winning the Law Society’s National Award for Excellence in Practice Standards.
Jane Lister, Managing Partner of Foot Anstey said “Foot Anstey is on track to become the premier law firm in the South West following our merger with Hancock Caffin. The recent Western Morning News Corporate Deals Survey shows this strength with Foot Anstey together with Hancock Caffin acting in 39 major corporate deals during the past 12 months.”
“Being in Cornwall is an important step for us. Our move to bigger offices in Truro will accommodate 150 staff offering legal advice to businesses, individuals and the public sector.
“The merger is a true partnership, with Foot Anstey strengthening the company and commercial teams in Truro and Hancock Caffin bringing expertise in the agricultural sector to our clients in our offices in Exeter, Plymouth and Taunton.”
The new combined firm will have 40 partners and over 400 staff.
