• We represented a major European insurer at the instance of UK claims handling agents. The case involved a scooter accident in Milan involving a high profile UK magazine editor. This multi-party claim is potentially worth £millions and involve questions of jurisdiction, forum, applicable law, liability and quantum.
• We acted for heavy plant contractors at the instance of UK insurers. The Claimant pursued a significant personal injury claim arising from a domestic garden fire.
• We acted for a major European insurer in connection with a collision between two lorries on the A1 near Sheffield. We successfully defended the claim being presented by the Claimant and recovered the Counter Claim in full together with indemnity costs. All this despite the fact that there were no independent witnesses and the European insured could not speak a word of English and had to give evidence via an interpreter. His evidence was preferred to that of the Claimant.
