Case Study 1 - Childcare

A client called us because they were not being allowed contact with their children. The parent did not have parental responsibility and wanted advise as to their position. We initially took instructions about previous contact arrangements and also the parent’s status to the child, before writing a letter setting out the client’s position and objectives to the resident parent’s solicitors.

A defined schedule of contact was agreed between solicitors and on the basis that the client maintain the contact, the other party were willing to review the issue of parental responsibility after a period of three months.
