JOB SPECIFICATION
1. Experience of practising planning law in either the private sector or public sector is required
3. Additional experience of environmental and highways law would also be welcome
4. Experience of, or at least an interest in developing expertise in, advocacy at planning inquiries would be preferable.
FOOT ANSTEY
The successful applicant will have the opportunity to deal with major projects, appeals and judicial reviews as well as more routine planning advice, agreements and applications.
PLANNING TEAM
Our Planning Team comprises two units, namely planning lawyers and town planners. The Team is one of the largest if, not the largest planning practices within a South West Solicitors’ practice. The extent of our planning expertise enables us to provide a truly comprehensive planning service to our clients from site appraisals through to judicial reviews.
We continually attract high quality planning work from a range of clients based in the South West, including several local planning authorities and major developers. Our planning services form an important part of the firm’s drive to increase its public sector work.
It is intended that the successful applicant will be based in our Exeter office, although members of the Planning Team also work from the firm’s Taunton and Plymouth offices.
The successful applicant will join the Business and Public Sector Group comprising 125 fee earners. Within that group there are teams covering commercial and residential property transactions, commercial transactions, banking and debt collection, employment, financial and commercial disputes, insolvency, media and IT, insurance and PI, planning and land use and property litigation.
