NEW LAWYER REQUIRED IN OUR CONSTRUCTION UNIT
(EXETER BASED)
JOB SPECIFICATION
The construction team are looking for an experienced lawyer to take advantage of an exciting opportunity to join the rapidly expanding department. The successful candidate will assist the existing team with contentious and non-contentious work and also have the opportunity to help build the team and develop their own caseload.
Essential Criteria
1. Solicitor
2. Experience in a major law firm with a significant construction department
3. Good academics
4. An individual who is client friendly, proactive and hard working
5. A good working knowledge of both contentious and non-contentious construction work. Should have experience of drafting bespoke and standard form contracts, ability to provide practical legal advice and experience of dispute
6. A willingness to get involved in business development
Optional Criteria
1. Experience of running own contentious caseload – arbitration/litigation/adjudication proceedings
2. Knowledge of professional negligence claims
The successful applicant will join the Business & Public Sector Group comprising 125 fee earners. Within that group there are 4 units covering Business Services, Employment, Insolvency and Property. The successful applicant will primarily work within the property and construction unit and will be encouraged to develop the expanding construction team.
