JOB SPECIFICATION
Essential Criteria
1. Solicitor
2. An individual who is client friendly, proactive and hard working
3. A good working knowledge of:-
• Property transactions involving farms and farm buildings
• Farm Business Tenancies and Agricultural Holdings Act Tenancies
• Easements and Licenses
• Taxation (IHT & CGT) relating to farms and farmers
• Single Farm Payments/Entitlements
• Country matters in general and farms and farming in particular
Optional Criteria
1. Working knowledge and experience of:-
• Matters involving the Agricultural Land Tribunal and Arbitrations under the Agricultural Holdings Act
The successful applicant will join the Business and Public Sector Group comprising 125 fee earners. Within that group there are teams covering commercial and residential property transactions, commercial transactions, banking and debt collection, employment, financial and commercial disputes, insolvency, media and IT, insurance and PI, planning and land use and property litigation. The successful applicant will primarily work with partners in the Commercial and Agricultural teams.
