The Employment team at Foot Anstey acts for many employers across the UK and is the largest team of dedicated employment lawyers in the south west.
We are pleased to offer employment law advice to individuals and have an enviable track record of representing employees in high value cases. The team gives effective, supportive advice to employees at all levels. Our advice is practical and focused, aimed at achieving the best result for you. We are particularly skilled at representing senior and professional employees in relation to discrimination claims and claims that involve long term loss of earnings and/or pensions.
We look to resolve your problems through a variety of methods. We are skilled in dealing with difficult matters and recognising solutions without resorting to litigation.
If however, you need to take legal action against your employer our team are highly experienced and successful in conducting Employment Tribunal work for individuals. Unusually, our team includes experts in carrying out advocacy in the Tribunal. We can represent you from the time you initially speak to us through to the end of a Tribunal hearing.
Our team has recently been involved in achieving successful outcomes on behalf of employees in a wide variety of cases, including high value and complex Tribunal cases such as:
- Acting for a client in obtaining in excess of £500,000 in relation to a Tribunal claim;
- Acting on behalf of a Partner in a professional services firm in a successful claim for sex discrimination and unfair dismissal. The claim was settled for a significant sum representing several years loss of earnings;
- Obtaining a significant financial settlement for a senior employee in a Tribunal claim against a multi-national company;
- Representing a claimant in a complex and high value disability discrimination claim, obtaining settlement prior to the hearing based on career long financial losses.
- Achieving a significant financial settlement for a female executive in a sex discrimination claim against a major UK and international bank.
- Securing a six figure award for a worker who brought a whistleblowing case against a large employer.
Services that we offer to individuals include:
- Expert advice on negotiating the best deal on Compromise Agreements and termination packages, including specialist tax advice;
- Representation and advice on all claims of discrimination in the workplace on the grounds of age, sex, race, ethnic origin and nationality, disability, religion or belief, and sexual orientation particularly where claims involve elements of personal injury and pension loss.
- Acting of behalf of senior employees and directors in relation to all aspects of employment, including the issues that arise when an employee is a shareholder or subject to restrictive covenants.
- Representation and advice on claims of unfair dismissal, breach of contract (including discretionary bonus claims and wrongful dismissal), transfer of business and employment status.
- Advising employees on disciplinary issues, dismissals and workplace dispute such as grievances.
- Drafting and reviewing employment contracts and service agreements.
