Elderly Care

An increasing number of legal issues affect people as they move into old age, particularly as the regulatory environment evolves and it becomes harder to keep up to date.

Our specialist Elderly Care team has the expertise required to support elderly people, their families and carers as they grapple with what are often complex issues. Within the team we have specialists who are members of “Solicitors for the Elderly”.

As well as being effective lawyers, we aim to provide a sympathetic approach to the issues they face, being willing to discuss problems openly and advise on the most effective course of action.

We help elderly people and their families in relation to:

  • Residential care and payment of care home fees
  • Wills, Trusts and living wills
  • Powers of Attorney
  • Management of personal financial affairs
  • Court of Protection / Deputyship
  • Property issues

In addition many of these issues have the potential to cause family rifts. We understand these issues and can provide sensitive but effective advice designed to help solve these problems and to ensure that our clients’ best interests and wishes are at the heart of the outcome.

If you or a loved one needs advice on any of these issues, please contact a member of the Elderly Care Team, for a free initial telephone discussion. We will do our best to put you at ease and advise you on the best course of action.

We are happy to make home, care home or hospital visits if you or a relative are unable to attend appointments in our office.
